Did you ever have one of those days that you wish you could relive forever? I did it on Mother’s Day. It was the BEST day. I made sure to get all of the household things done the day before so we could spend the day outside enjoying each other. Although I’m not yet back to the athletic specimen I once was (ha ha ha), my preference is always going to be doing something active over a day of relaxation. Cameron and I started the day with a five-mile trail run. It was so awesome to run along with my little one. His keen eye caught everything in the forest and asked me a never-ending stream of questions. It was great! It’s amazing what kid's curious little minds want to know! Like who put all of the buoys in the lake? What will happen if the power plant explodes while we are at the lake and how high can a frog jump? AWESOME!!
We came home for a quick lunch and headed out for an afternoon on the Tobacco Trail. This time all four kids came and my husband! Yay! It was pure bliss!!
The boys head to kindergarten in a couple of months and I am really trying to soak it all in. Focus on the now and remember that each moment is truly precious. All of the “stuff” I really “want” to do for me can wait. I have the rest of my life to do them. I am so grateful to have found peace with these thoughts!
So now every day I try to recapture some of these moments. We ride, run, walk and play together…soaking it all in!
